Had a lot of fun today. Good shoot ,good people.
Need to do some reloading as the .45 ammo is depleted.
Thanks to Springfield and Brownells for the Swag!

Family stuff came up and didn't think I had enough time to get done what I had to do and what I wanted to do.
Watched some of the video's looked like a lot of fun, just curious how long the match took?
With 30 shooters did you break up into multiple squads?

David I'm sorry you missed out but family first. We had 3 groups, if I had realized we had enough timers and help we would have ran 4 groups. I think I left around 5 after we had everything picked up, but I believe the majority of people were done by 330. Some left earlier then that because they had things they had to do.

That's a long day, I've been to acouple the USPSA shoots in CR where they stager start times and changes SO's half way during the match so nobody has to do it all. Shooting only takes 1 hour, first come first serve. Shooting starts at 9, first 5 shooter go & done an hour later. But the range only allows 1 group shooting at a time. With the room at Eddyville, maybe as soon as firat squad of 5 are ready to go let them start, another SO is waiting for next 5 etc.... With the interent some are even taking prepaid spots, show up 30 minutes before you plan to shoot, done 1-2 hours latter. If your not a morning person or work 2-3 shift sign up fo noon.

3-gun just takes a long time, period. I haven't been to one yet that didn't go until 3PM or so.

James thanks for the comment on how long 3 guns take. Never been to one somewhere else so I always wondered if they did anything different to speed it up. I always try to look for areas to speed it up but there just does not seem to be a way to do it and keep safety first with a cold range. I have always wondered if there was a way all the shooters in the group could load their shotguns at the same time (none in chamber) and stack them in a safe area until your time to shoot. Loading them seems to take the time, loading maged pistols and rifles is not a big time eater. But due to safety I know this is not an option. One thing I have learned about 3 gun shoots is its not a hobby to take up if the wife wants you back home by 11 AM.

I guess I like long shoots. If I pay 20 bucks and can shoot most of the day and be entertained that's a cheap day! If I spend the day in Des Moines shopping with the wife and my daughters... well it cost a whole lot more and I am not entertained at all lol. Like james said 3 guns take time. I went to centerville this weekend and shot one. I think we got done around 3. When you have a shotgun to load and stage, a rifle to stage and all the targets to reset you can only go so fast safely.
