I'm planning to be there. Are any of the shotgun targets going to be flying? And how far out are the shotgun and rifle targets going to be? That might help decide what weapons I bring. I've got a 20" Mossberg 500 with a long tube and a red dot (my 11 year uses it for deer), but it's tough for areal targets. And with a cylinder bore it isn't good very far out with bird shot. Thanks!

Glad to hear you will be coming. I don't remember off the top of my head just how far the rifle range goes out. Rifle will be between 100 and 200 max. Shotgun will be around 20 yds and there may be one or two birds flying off poppers. Hope this helps. If you are not doing anything this Saturday we will be having a pistol shoot also.

Planning on being down Saturday and bringing a 1st time shooter along, I've never shot a 3 gun match.
He doesn't have a appropriate handgun and holster so planning on sharing mine, I have 2 holsters, figured we'd swap at the firing line. Is that OK.

David, glad your coming and it's awesome you are bring a new shooter. We will find a safe way for you guys to share your handgun. We will probably have you go up to the safe area to trade off every time. We will make it work.

[bring] If they bring a small pistol bag, after unload show clear, hammer down, why not have them bag it? Then when you tell them make ready they can retrieve the pistol from the bag. That's what we do at USPSA matches anyways... Beats walking up and down the hill.

[bring] James I could see that working but I will leave these kinds of decisions up to more important people then me. I see no reason we both couldn't just walk to the firing line together and swap under the RO's supervision.
But unless the Safe area is a long ways from the stage, we'll just walk there and exchange it, I didn't even think about that. If we alternate who shoot's first between the two of us, we only need to swap once per stage.

For a old fat man like myself it can be a hike, with that in mind we are going to have multiple safe areas.

I have had a couple people ask me the same question so I figured I would address it here so everyone was the same page. Your first pistol shoot is free but your first 3 gun is not due to the extra targets used.

On the same note, isn't 3-gun $20, IIRC I happened accross it, but can't seem to find it again.
Might take off Friday, need to take daugher to dentist in morning, keeping stat's at football game in evening, and I've never shot my ar farther 30 yards, and 98% of that is 22 lr, don't think I've even put 2 223 mags thru it. 200 yards sounds like a long ways.

Yes David 20 dollars for the 3 gun matches. On stage one we are using steel targets for the rifle part. We need a minimum of 100 yards to use these safely. The last 3 gun I ran, before we had these, a lot of shooters said they wanted to see long rifle shots. I believe there are two other stages where we will be using our rifles but on cardboard targets. They will be closer to 40 and under yards.

That is the same range we use all the time and almost everyone has no problems with it.
I believe it is 150 to 175yds but do not know for sure. Is what it is. I for one am also not set up for 200yd and will shoot it anyway.
As far as swapping pistols we will work that out BUT only with the safety officer present.
What weapon are you using David? I have a couple of holsters that can be used. Wheel gun or auto? That would solve the problem of the swap.
Main thing is to have safe fun!

I have 2 Blackhawk Serpas so I have holsters covered, with both of us and the SO at the firing line it won't take but 2 seconds. We went shooting Sunday so he got familiar with gun and holster.
Long range sounds good.

I believe it is 150 to 175yds but do not know for sure. Is what it is. Let's just remember that the Miculek rulebook y'all supposedly follow specifies red dot or irons only. ;-) I'm getting my excuses ready because I'm going to suck it up and use my AimPoint.
